Gopal K. Kapur

Gopal K. Kapur, founder and president of the Center for Project Management ® consults, writes and educates in both the public and private sector, as a noted authority on project management.

Since 1975, Mr. Kapur has been developing innovative strategies for providing management solutions to companies of all sizes and disciplines, which not only help meet the challenges of today's evolving business landscape, but address the changes imperative to corporate longevity.

Through consultation at every level of an organization, Mr. Kapur empowers individuals to achieve optimum performance. His unique rapport with all echelons of corporate players, from the CEO to the end user, has armed Mr. Kapur with the insight necessary to provide practical solutions to a wide variety of project management problems. Many Fortune 500 companies have adopted Kapur's highly successful Project Process Architecture™ (PPA). PPA provides a practical strategy for managing projects to success.

Mr. Kapur speaks frequently at national and international conferences. His speeches and keynote addresses have won him prestigious awards, both in the United States and abroad. In 1992 he was honored as "Best Speaker" at Project Management Institute's international conferences held in San Diego and again in Vancouver in 1993. He was rated the "Best Speaker" at the Technology Leadership Conferences sponsored by The Brookings Institution in Washington, DC in 1997 and 1998.

A renowned author, Gopal Kapur has written two computer-programming textbooks and his articles and features have appeared in management and technology publications worldwide. His white papers and research are utilized by leading consulting bodies such as the Gartner Group and The Corporate Executive Board. He has been interviewed for five segments of Gartner Group's audio magazine - Talking Technology including the highly popular topic: 7 Deadly Sins of Project Management.

Mr. Kapur graduated summa cum laude from the Thapar Institute of Engineering, India. He was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award in 1983 for his contributions to education by the President of India. He has lectured at the University of California (Berkeley), The Brookings Institution in Washington, DC, and the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. In August of 1999, Mr. Kapur was appointed as a Fellow of the Gartner Institute.
