Objective:
The purpose of ProjectSCAN is to assist your organization
in accelerating the application of sound project management practices,
enabling you to better deliver high quality IT projects that meet
mission needs, are on time, and within budget. Your organization
will gain a detailed analysis of strengths and areas for improvement,
and a concrete action plan. Your organization will also be able
to benchmark where you stand against the aggregate of project management
performance information in CPM’s ProjectSCAN database.
Scope:
CPM will survey up to 300 personnel in your organization, and will
conduct personal or telephone interviews with six key organizational
representatives. CPM’s marketplace-proven “ProjectSCAN” assessment
tools will be used to weigh your organization’s strengths and areas
for improvement against the sound project management practices embodied
in CPM’s 24-step Project Process Architecture. In addition, your
organization will be benchmarked against CPM’s broader ProjectSCAN
Performance Database (PPD). The PPD includes project management
performance information from a variety of private sector organizations.
Your organization will receive a Management Action Plan (MAP). This
plan offers recommendations that are tailored specifically to the
needs of each organization. The MAP is primarily designed to introduce
repeatable project management into the organization’s IT environment.
The ProjectSCAN Assessment
concludes with an Executive Report that includes the five following
elements:
An assessment of your organization's project management maturity level
An assessment of the impact of your organization’s current maturity level on its ability
to deliver projects efficiently and effectively
A benchmark of your organization’s maturity level for future assessment
A benchmark of your organization’s maturity level against CPM’s existing database
of
ProjectSCAN assessments
A Management Action Plan (MAP), with detailed recommendations to improve project
management
